Presenter duties
Select an original research article, from a peer review journal, published within last 5 years. Randomized controlled trials are preferred, but other research designs are acceptable (systematic reviews ONLY with meta-analysis). Please avoid selecting an article that includes authors who are members of the journal club.
Contact Emily Dunlap at emily.dunlap.pt@gmail.com with your research article selection by the end of the preceding month before the club meeting.
Concisely (20-30 min) present study purpose, methods, results and discussion. Have a few questions ready to stimulate group discussion.
All Club member duties
Read over manuscript prior to meeting. Come to meeting with questions and ideas for clinical applications for study.
Participate in discussion. ‘Lean in and lean out’ to let everyone have a chance to contribute.
The club meetings are not a platform to advertise continuing education, conferences, webinars, podcasts, programs, products, or consulting services. Let’s keep it all about the research.
Here are a few resource that gives guidance on how to review a manuscript.
Very helpful when preparing for journal club meetings.
